Door-to-door caroling isn’t really a thing anymore, so when the urge hits to express your Christmas spirit in song, head to The Watching Hour: Xmas Pops Sing-Along, hosted by the Action Pack’s Henri Mazza.
“Action Pack is a branch of the Alamo Drafthouse that concentrates on sing-alongs, quote-alongs and other action-y items,” explains Keith Garcia, programming manager for the Denver Film Society. “As part of our continued friendship with them, we thought we’d try to spread a little holiday cheer to the masses with this gigantic Christmas pop explosion.”
Sing along to favorites old and new, from Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” to Lonely Island’s “Dick in a Box” (what — you forgot that was a Christmas song?), in an interactive journey through pop’s winter wonderland. Everyone gets a free Santa hat, jingle bells and candles, and the bar will be open all night if you need some spirits to get in the spirit.
It starts at 10 p.m. tonight and tomorrow at the Sie FilmCenter, 2501 East Colfax Avenue. Tickets are $10 general admission, $8 for students and seniors, and $7 for DFS members. For more info, visit www.denverfilm.org.
