Ladies, a question: When are you going to finally address the mess of broken jewelry in your house? You know, that clump of chains and pendants and one-sided earrings and all the other shiny stuff that you can’t wear anymore for one reason or another. (Yes, we know about your stash. We have one, too.)

Listen. It doesn’t have to be like this. Open that drawer in your jewelry box, dump everything out, and sort through your bling for all the genuine gold, silver and platinum jewelry you don’t want anymore. Then take it to KGNU’s Bling Fling, today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Under the Snug in the Irish Snug, 1201 East Colfax Avenue. The metals will be recycled into new jewelry by GreenKarat, an ecologically responsible jewelry company, and 80 percent of the current market value of the gold, silver and platinum will be donated to KGNU. And while you’re donating the goods for a good cause, you’ll be able to enjoy drinks, food, entertainment, a silent auction and door prizes; there will even be new jewelry available for your perusing pleasure. Admission is a $10 donation at the door; call 303-449-4885 or visit www.kgnu.org.
Mon., July 13, 6-9 p.m., 2009
