It’s hard to find words to describe the blowout at the Mercury Cafe tonight. It’ll be a culinary delight, what with the all-night dining available from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. — and the background music will be live, provided by Local Color, David Nereson, Ron Tomasic, Molly Zackary and Joe Bonner. Then at 7:30, the annual Erotic Poetry Festival begins, complete with tribal belly dancers, for only $5. Later, there are two options for ringing in the New Year: At 10, the Queen City Jazz Band with Danette Hollowell gets the party started for $20; at 10:30 in the Jungle Room, Steve Lawson, Los Dos and the New American Ramblers provide tunes for $10.

And the celebration doesn’t stop at midnight: Dance your way into the morning — Argentine tango, swing and blues — beginning at 1:30 a.m. for free. Talk about your after-party options! Dinner reservations are suggested; call 303-294-9281 or visit www.mercurycafe.com.
