Red Bull Media House, Brain Farm Digital Cinema and Quiksilver have announced world tour dates for director Curt Morgan’s latest snowboard film extravaganza The Art of Flight after unveiling a high-profile ad campaign promoting the film during X Games 17. The high-definition film (check out the trailer below) will get its world premiere in New York at 8 p.m. on September 7 at the Beacon Theater; it’s coming to the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver on September 27, the Boulder Theater for two screenings on September 28, then to the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen on October 1 during The Meeting ski and snowboard film festival.
If the Ellie Caulkins Opera House sounds like an outlandish venue for a snowboard film screening, consider that Morgan’s previous film That’s It, That’s All packed the place and got a standing ovation. Gotta love Denver, right?
The Art of Flight stars Travis Rice, Nicolas Müller, Mark Landvik, Jake Blauvelt, Pat Moore, DCP Carrier-Porcheron, Scotty Lago, Eero Niemala, John Jackson, Jeremy Jones and a couple of logo-plastered whirlybirds with very impressive pilots. The Aspen resorts are prominently featured in the film, too: The Brain Farm crew had the park and pipe to themselves in May after the resort closed for the season.
