Week after week, the tension has been ratcheting up on TV’s The Walking Dead, and now it’s time for the final showdown. After all the negotiation, confrontation and betrayal, the big payoff is coming, and a big payoff calls for a big stage. That’s just what you’ll find at Not So Dead Sundays, the weekly Walking Dead watch party at Jake’s.
“We have a hundred-inch projection screen,” says the bar’s Steven Sampson. “We put it on the big screen, turn the volume up and darken the room for effect.”
While the undead hordes feast on whichever unlucky cast members won’t make it back for season four, you can enjoy Philly Finger Rolls — a cheesesteak in egg-roll form — along with themed Bloody Marys and Bloody Maria shots. They’re on special all night, starting at 3 p.m. in case you prefer eating before the massacre begins. For those who want the ultimate zombie drink, Sampson promises they have you covered. “The bartender knows how to make a bloody brain shot,” he says.
The show airs at 7 p.m. with a replay at 9 at Jake’s Food and Spirits, 3800 Walnut Street. In between, you can watch The Talking Dead for even more zombie joy. Admission is free and all ages are welcome. For more info, visit jakesdenver.com/events.
Sundays, 7 & 9 p.m. Starts: March 10. Continues through April 7, 2013
