We don’t know about you, but we like free shit — particularly when that shit is a free show with singers, poetry readings, spoken word performances (including comedy) and dancers from about five different ethnic traditions — and that’s not to mention a sneak preview of Tribe All, Lori Joyce’s in-the-works documentary project about women in the environmental movement.
As a fundraiser for that project and a celebration of Lammas — a pagan holiday that celebrates the harvest and would be happening right about now — Joyce is re-upping a show that was a hit in Boulder back in 2006. It all goes down Saturday at the Mercury Cafe (at 2199 California Street) on Saturday at 7 p.m. Ticket’s are $20.
But wait, you say, didn’t you say there was free shit?
Indeed, reader. Indeed we did. Because we love you so much, we’re giving away a shiny set of two tickets to this gala-extravaganza event to whoever leaves the best comment. “Best” will be determined by an algorithm invented by a team of computer scientists we keep locked in a cage beneath our office, or, if we find that they are no longer alive, by us, in an entirely subjective way.
