Mickki Langston of Colorado Local First loves the end of November. That’s her ground zero, the week after Thanksgiving, otherwise known as Buy Local Week, when Langston wants folks to support the local economy by patronizing locally owned businesses on Black Friday and beyond, rather than dive-bombing the malls and big boxes. Here’s what she had to say about last year’s event:

Langston is just as pleased as punch about this brand new shiny billboard proclaiming “Want a better economy? Buy Local First” as it overlooks the intersection of Franklin Street and Colfax and Park avenues.

The space was donated by Mile High Outdoor, a local billboard company, just in time for the fourth annual Buy Local Week, which begins on November 26. Check out the Colorado Local First website for details.
