That’s no longer an insult: Boulder’s Erik Weihenmayer just crushed the Naked Edge, a 5.11b (that means f-ing hard) climb in Eldorado Canyon. None of this should be surprising, since Weihenmayer’s also the first blind person atop Everest and the first to top out on the 7 Summits. But seeing the man do it is nothing short of pure inspiration.
One could argue that being unable to see the yawning abyss below might help him, but haters will change their mind when they see Weihenmayer finding and sticking gnarly holds solely by feel and shouted directions from fellow climbers.
Weihenmayer did the climb in association with Rock Monkey Films to promote awareness and raise money for the Access Fund, which helps preserve wild places for climbers and other outdoor enthusiasts.

He said it was “the hardest climb he’s ever done,” but Weihenmayer didn’t even seem to break a sweat. Man, I feel useless.
