At 7 a.m. yesterday, the members of the Westminster Police Department arrived at 8290 Federal Boulevard on a welfare check, but nothing seemed amiss. The story is different when they were called back at 11:37 a.m. This time, they found a dead woman and Eric Eugene Lyerly, 52, who’s been busted on suspicion of first-degree murder.
At this point, WPD reps are keeping details like the woman’s name and cause of death to themselves. But they make it clear that no additional suspects are being sought.
