Back in 2009, we reported about the impending opening of a Tesla Motors outlet in Boulder, just in time for local shoppers to get a reported $42,000 tax credit for buying one of the sleek electric cars. Thank you, America! But less than two years later, the outlet — which wound up in an odd location on Pearl Street, a block north of the main pedestrian mall — has pulled up stakes in favor of new digs at Park Meadows.
Tesla’s website makes the new Park Meadows location, at 8401 Park Meadows Center Drive Space # 1060, look more like an art installation than an auto dealership. But it’s likely to get more foot traffic than did the Boulder shop — a prime reason for the move, according to the Boulder Daily Camera article linked above. Besides, those who walk past it now may be likelier to purchase a pricey Roadster, which typically sell for north of $100,000, than might folks getting balloon animals for their tots while strolling Pearl Street.
Here’s a look at the Park Meadows branch, which opened Saturday.
