It wasn’t just the decisive win that made last night’s Nuggets victory so gratifying. And it wasn’t the fact that Denver looked so good — if very, very wet — on national TV. What was particularly sweet about this chapter in the Cinderella story is that the Nuggets were never supposed to be at the Pepsi Center last night; facility owner Stan Kronke had so little faith that his team would make the Western Conference finals that he’d let professional wrestling book it for a Memorial Day gig.
Just when you think you’ve got Denver figured out, this city will surprise you — and the Nuggets had the entire country pinned last night.
And the country will be watching again on Wednesday. But in the meantime, Denver has some business to conduct at a series of town-hall meetings.
Joe Biden, the gaffe-a-minute vice president, is in town today to host a town-hall meeting on “Building a Strong Middle Class Through a Green Economy” at the Dernver Museum of Nature & Science. Details are evolving. (Biden will be giving the commencement address at the Air Force Academy tomorrow.)
