If the accusations against Brittany Gonzales are accurate, she’s got some highly questionable priorities.
After hitting an eleven-year-old boy riding his bike, she allegedly stopped — but only to pick up her hubcap.
Witnesses who spoke to Fox31 say the boy was bleeding and wailing in the street near the intersection of Irving Street and Dakota Avenue on June 18 when Gonzales pulled over in her 1998 Toyota. But her focus wasn’t on his apparent injuries. At first, she allegedly freaked out about her cell phone. Then she grabbed a hubcap that had come off at impact and took off again, leaving tire tracks and skid marks on the pavement and nearby lawns.
She didn’t get far. Someone who saw what happened trailed behind, getting a description of the car and the license plate number in the process. Cops soon picked her up near Alaska Place and Knox Court, at which time she reportedly admitted to having consumed four alcoholic drinks before sliding behind the wheel.

Neighbors say the boy suffered a broken leg and other non-life-threatening injuries. As for the hubcap, it’s presumably just fine.
Gonzales has been released on a $50,000 bond, but she’s due in court on July 6 to hear the charges against her: vehicular assault, child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury, leaving the scene of an accident and DUI.
