The Gold Hill Inn launched its 48th season last weekend, its first without longtime owner Frank Finn. Finn, who passed away last September, had owned and operated the former gold mining settlement-turned-fine-dining-and-lodging-establishment since 1960 with his wife and family.
Management of the hotel and restaurant remains in the family, though. And sons Brian and Chris Finn are keeping the Gold Hill Inn’s business operations virtually intact, including its six-course meals that change daily and its murder mystery events.
“The one thing that has changed is the way our murder mysteries at the Bluebird Lodge are set up,” says Brian Finn. “We have always offered the murder mysteries as a package deal only that included lodging. Now we offer a dinner murder mystery with a choice on the lodging.”
