Earth Day isn’t until tomorrow, but several culinary events today will whet your appetite for April 22.
For starters, Channel 6 will air Food Inc. at 9 p.m. tonight. PBS is suggesting that you host a potluck, then blog about what you served and what you thought of the film, and send a link to PBS. That’s where, through May 3, you’ll also find recipes and the chance to win a gift basket (prizes include autographed copies of Fast Food Nation and The Omnivore’s Dilemma, Amy’s foods and more).
SALT Bistro, 1047 Pearl Street in Boulder, is hosting an Earth Week Benefit Dinner from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. tonight. Executive chef Bradford Heap is crafting a seven-course menu featuring the wines of Paul Dolan Vineyards. The dinner costs $75, with a $25 suggested donation; proceeds benefit Boulder Valley School Food Project. For more details, call 303-444-7258 or visit www.saltboulderbistro.com.
Sunflower Farmers’ Market, at 8601 West Cross Drive in Littleton, is offering its free Sunflower Simple Suppers Sampling from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The “Love Food, Hate Waste” recipe uses rotisserie chicken along with Israeli couscous. For more info, call 720-214-0410 or go to www.sfmarkets.com.
