Anyone who has been on a tour since July has already seen the space, but the shop will now keep regular hours, selling bottles of whiskey and Stranahan’s-branded items, including T-shirts, hats, sweatshirts, artwork, tasting glasses, flasks, tin cups and the collectible, pinup-style posters that Stranahan’s has been making since its founding in 2004.

Shoppers can also chill out on a couch or at one of the ten or so tractor-seat bar stools at the bar and sample, for free, whatever batches the distillery is currently selling — in order to make the proper choice. For more than a sample, though, you’ll have to head into the Rackhouse Pub, which sells Stranahan’s and is located in the same building.

Guests can also watch the distillery at work through a wall of windows that separates it from the store.

Stranahan’s General Store is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from noon to 5 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 5 p.m. by appointment; and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The store is closed on Sundays, as well as on December 25 and 27, and January 1.
