Most people think of soup as a winter meal, but it’s a versatile food you can enjoy year-round — and still make it a seasonal favorite, depending on the ingredients you use.

Tonight at 6 p.m., Heirloom Gardens, at 4460 Winona Court, is offering a class in Seasonal Soups and Breads that will teach you how to make creamy onion soup, roasted butternut squash soup, Portuguese white bean and kale stew, Challah bread, cheddar cheese and buttermilk biscuits and fig-and-almond dessert bread. The class costs $50; to enroll, call 303-956-7203 or go to www.eatwhereulive.com.
