Although much of the public’s attention has been focused on Izakaya Den, which just opened last month in its spectacular new home next to Sushi Den, that restaurant has been making changes, too. Sushi Den spent months working with professionals from Southern Wine & Spirits along with national mixologists to create a cocktail list that pairs with its sushi and other Japanese dishes. That list just rolled out, along with a revised sake roster.

New cocktails include the Gion District, with Skyy Blood Orange Vodka, Skyy Ginger Vodka, Asian 5 Spice syrup and fresh lemon juice, and the Pacific Time, with Skyy Vodka, St. Germaine, fresh lemon juice and white grapes.

Toshi Kizaki has also overhauled the sake list; after months of sake seminars and tastings, the new list offers a “tasting chart” with sakes ranked from sweetest to driest, and sorts them by regions. The sake menus also offers tasting suggestions.
