Just in time for opening day, Breckenridge Ballpark Pub, 2220 Blake Street, has reopened after taking a month off for renovations.
Breckenridge Brewery, which started in its namesake town, expanded into the Denver market in 1992 when it created the brewpub at 22nd and Blake streets — three years before Coors Field opened across the street. The renovation project is the first major update in the place since then.
Aside from a completely revamped interior, the new digs include a brand-new draft system with sixteen taps (double the previous number) featuring regular lineup of beers from Breckenridge; rare, barrel-aged and seasonal beers; and a rotating selection of guest beers from other Colorado breweries. The Ballpark Pub will also begin a cask program, featuring beers that are naturally carbonated in a cask and served without the use of CO2 or refrigeration.
Breck is also introducing a high-end cocktails program, crafting beer-centric cocktails such as a Manhattan aged in Peach Street Distillery barrels, which will be available today.
