This just in from the Englewood Police Department: An investigation is ongoing into the death of a man found in an alley near the intersection of East Oxford Avenue and South Lincoln Street, an area captured in the graphic above (if you have problems seeing the image, click “View Larger Map”). At this point, Englewood Police representatives aren’t calling the incident a homicide, although they note that the white male victim, said to be approximately fifty-years old, suffered blunt force trauma to his head and legs. Englewood – On June 24, 2009, at 6:06 AM, the Englewood Police Department received a reported man down call in the alley at E. Oxford Ave. and S. Lincoln St. A bike rider traveling in the alley found a male subject prone and not moving. The Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene. Paramedics on scene found no signs of life. The white male subject was about 50 years of age. First responders noticed signs of blunt force trauma to the subject’s head and legs. Paramedics contacted Swedish Hospital and attending Physician Michael Hunt pronounced death at 6:21 AM. At 11:55 AM the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and took control of the body. The subject’s identity has not yet been confirmed.The death investigation is ongoing.
