The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Denver presents the sixth annual Sabor this evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Denver Botanic Gardens, 1007 York Street. The outdoor event showcases spirits, beer, wine and food from local restaurants and distributors. Tickets are $75; purchase them on the Sabor website.

Saturday, August 3:

Sweet Action Ice Cream, 52 Broadway, is hosting a giveaway event in collaboration with NPR’s Bullseye and JJGo podcasts. Hosts Jesse Thorn and Jordan Morris will be on site to document a thousand customers receiving free ice cream cones paid for by their listeners. The annual Olathe Sweet Corn Festival takes place today from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Olathe Community Park, 420 Horton Avenue in Olathe. The festival features food vendors, live music and family activities. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children; check the website for more details.

National Farmers’ Market Week begins today and runs through August 11, and Chipotle Mexican Grill, Denver’s homegrown success story, is showing its support of local produce by giving the first 100 to 300 people (depending on the market location) to arrive at select farmers’ markets a $10 token that can be used at any vendor.
