The current happy-hour menu at the McCormick’s Fish House & Bar in the corner of the Oxford Hotel may not seem as much of a bargain as the legendary “cheap time” that denizens of LoDo remember so fondly, when every item — including a big fat cheeseburger and fries — was $1.99, but the chain’s happy hour is still good enough to rank as No. 1 in USA Today‘s recent list of the best happy hour deals nationwide.

And the McCormick’s deal should look even better right now, since the bar sells Irish coffee for a buck every time it’s snowing. See also: – Still snowing? “We are pleased to receive this recognition and are proud of the happy hour offerings we have established,” says Tilman Fertitta, owner of Landry’s Inc., which bought the McCormick & Schmick chain in 2012. “We always aim to provide a superior experience for our guests at every Landry’s, Inc. concept.”

And there are plenty of those. Fertitta now has more than a dozen restaurants in Denver. Before picking up the McCormick & Schmick’s chain, which has two locations in Denver, he’d bought Oceanaire. And in 2012, he went on to buy Morton’s The Steakhouse, closing the Tech Center restaurant but keeping the Morton’s at 1710 Wynkoop Street in LoDo.
