Half the fun of any convention is seeing all the cosplayers — the dedicated fans who spend countless hours and way too much money painstakingly re-creating the look of their favorite characters from film, TV, comics or video games. If you just can’t get enough cosplay goodness and are looking for a chance to show off your own creations or appreciate the handiwork of others, Cosplay After Dark is for you.

“I lived in L.A. for ten years. I went to [San Diego] Comic Con for ten straight years, and as Denver Comic Con got bigger and bigger, I never understood why there wasn’t a major costume ball,” explains organizer Andrew Feinstein. “That’s where we came up with the concept of Cosplay After Dark as the Saturday-night all-out costume festival.”

The party will feature music by Total Ghost and DJ Mark Andrew, 3-D projection mapping, aerialists, pyro performers and more, plus the best dressed at this bash will take home a $1,000 prize.

Cosplay After Dark starts tonight at 9 p.m. at Exdo Event Center, 1399 35th Street. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door for 18+, or $10 in advance and $15 at the door for 21+. For more info, visit cosplayafterdark.com.
