The Montbello Recreation Center isn’t frequently a hot Twitter subject — but that changed last night. Among the tweets on the topic was this one: “WTF…. Someone got stabbed at the Montbello rec? Wow.”
Also tweeting on the topic was the Denver Police Department, which shared details of a crime that left one man in critical condition and two others in custody. Here’s the latest.

The center’s listed Sunday hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. But according to 9News, trouble went down there at about 8:30 p.m.
Here’s the first DPD tweet from the scene, time-stamped about an hour after the incident is said to have taken place.
The initial lack of suspect info didn’t last long. The DPD followed up with another tweet just shy of an hour later:
Where in Aurora? That information has not yet been released, and neither have the names of the individuals fitted with cuffs. But folks on Twitter continue to talk about the crime. Here’s one late-night example:
