On your marks. Get set. Drink Beer. At 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, September 9, beer bloggers around Colorado (and perhaps a few from around the rest of the country) will unite for the first-ever Virtual Colorado Beer Tasting.

How does it work? Drinkers and bloggers – and there are many of them — will buy Colorado beer, and open it at exactly 7:30. Can’t you hear all that carbonation right now?

Then, they will sample the beer and record their thoughts via blog, Twitter (the hashtag #bbc10), Facebook or somewhere else on the Internet.

The purpose, says Alan Wright, a Boulder events planner and creator of the massive Beer Bloggers Conference set for November 5-7 in Boulder, is to raise awareness of Colorado beers and to promote the conference.

$50,000

Drinkers can also get in the action at www.BeerBloggersConference.org/colorado. There are more than two dozen beer bloggers in Colorado alone and 515 nationwide, according to Wright. For a partial list, click here.
