Stoners, start your bongs. Now that weed is legal in Colorado, connoisseurs of the sweet leaf can be catered to in nearly the same style as wine and beer aficionados have been for years. To kick off this pot-culture trend, the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is pairing the dope classic Half Baked with a complementary menu for a 4/20 Dinner Party.
Given the current state of the laws, they won’t be able to serve you actual weed, but you can blaze up on your own time and head out for the stoner-friendly feast. “The whole menu is based on everything you see [in Half Baked],” promises Seth Rexroad, Alamo’s executive chef. “I don’t know if you remember the part where the guy lists off this incredibly long list of [munchies] to go get. We are putting every single thing he says into a pizza and a milkshake.”
There’s also a slider trio based on other elements of the movie, one of the best-loved pot comedies of all time.
The high times start at 7 p.m. at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, 7301 South Santa Fe Drive in Littleton; tickets are $42. Purchase yours at drafthouse.com/denver.
