Cindy Adams.

Sure, I heard rumors that Oprah was in the crowd at last night’s Celebration with Altitude welcoming party, and also Jon Stewart. But the only verified, bona fide celebrity sighting was of New York Post gossip columnist Cindy Adams — being turned away from the VIP party!

The most telling evidence that the party was lacking in star power (even if it boasted an excess of stuffed animals): close to the end, a fan of public television came up to me and said, “You’re the most famous person I’ve seen! Can I take your picture?”

In a ladies’ room line at Elitch’s. Ah, celebrity!
