The Thin Man Tavern invites you to step through the looking glass and into the upside-down world of the Down the Rabbit Hole Ball on December 31. The bar and its surrounding space are being transformed into a magical landscape of oversized papier-mâché mushrooms and flowers, where guests can enjoy specially-made miniature cocktails and tiny cakes. “We’re playing on the idea of walking into a place and feeling very small,” explains Thin Man owner Eric Alstead.
The party will extend from the bar’s upper and lower levels out to the back parking lot, where a massive heated tent with a dance floor will host the reggae-ska stylings of the Alpha School Marm Orchestra. As at each of the previous Thin Man New Year’s Eve events, a special ball will be dropped at midnight — but the ball’s theme and contents are kept a secret until the big moment.
Head down the rabbit hole starting at 8 p.m. December 31 at the Thin Man, 2015 East 17th Avenue; tickets for the 21-and-up event are $25, and advance purchase (at tikly.co/-/1051) is strongly recommended.
