Yesterday, while having lunch, I made the dire, dire mistake of ordering a Cuban sandwich that was served — not grilled, not pressed, not melted — on challah bread. I shoved it away after the first soggy bite, setting my sights, instead, on the hummas and falafel that my dining companion (wisely) ordered instead.
