Dance music has always been a major draw in Denver — the birthplace of Beatport and the home to Beta and the Church, each considered among the best clubs in the world at one time or another — but right now, it’s just exploding in the mainstream across the country. Need proof? See this year’s Grammys, the New York Times trend piece published earlier this week. Or locally, consider the recent format shift of Hot 107.1, or just take a look at this summer’s Red Rocks lineup. It’s so dance heavy, we hear God is working on a new light show as we speak.
As if this summer’s Dance Card wasn’t already stacked with Global Dubstep and Global Dance Festivals, STS9, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, Ghostland Observatory, MiM0Sa, you can now add a pair of shows from Savoy (with Modestep, SOFI, Robotic Pirate Monkey, Heather Bright and more) on Friday, September 7 and Lotus (with Emancipator) on Saturday, September 8. Tickets ($37.50 – $40) for both shows go on sale on Saturday, April 14. VIP tickets and two-day passes to both shows are also available.
