Randi Waldman and Daniela Abbott have been part of iTHRiVE — an organization that connects women to one another — for years, but the inspiration for tonight’s Floralia: A Celebration of Wine, Women, Spring and Song was a chance happening. Waldman teaches an exercise class and discovered that one of her attendees was in a band; she asked the woman to play for iTHRiVE, and then Melissa Nowakowski of CoClubs got in on the conversation and offered to host the concert at City Hall, 1144 Broadway. Soon Abbott and Waldman were putting on a show. “The next thing we knew, it was this really big tribute to spring,” Waldman says.

“There’s going to be a variety of music, featuring five female-led bands,” Abbott adds. “We’re going to have a wonderful selection of local female artisans, as well as some representatives for female weavers from developing countries selling giftware and accessories for women.”

Chef Amy Eckerdt will prepare a selection of small plates (including vegetarian and gluten/wheat/dairy-free offerings) with fresh, seasonal food, and Waldman and Abbott are asking attendees to dress in colorful or floral clothing.

The party starts at 6 p.m., and admission for the 21-and-up event is $15 in advance or $20 at the door; it’s being billed as Denver’s largest girls’ night out, so leave the men at home. For more info, call 303-758-8100 or visit www.ithrivewoman.com.
