How’s your knowledge of potions? Can you rattle off the names of all the star Quidditch players at Hogwarts without breaking a sweat? And what’s the magic word you’ll need to cast a summon spell? You’ll need to master all of that knowledge and lots more to stand a chance in The Quiz Who Must Not Be Named, Geeks Who Drink’s first ever all-ages themed quiz.
Teams of up to six players will compete to see who knows the most about the wizarding world of J.K. Rowling’s wildly successful Harry Potter franchise. The winning team will take home a cash prize of $300. Bring your A-game, though: The competition will be stiff. “This was one of the most-requested special-format quizzes we’ve had,” says John Dicker, quizmaster-in-chief of Geeks Who Drink. “For our Seinfeld quiz, we had 74 teams; that’s only two less than Geek Bowl.”
Two quiz sessions will take place today, one at 2 p.m. and another at 5, at the D-Note, 7519 Grandview Avenue in Arvada. You can only enter one, and the 2 p.m. slot is almost full, so call ahead to reserve a spot. Tickets are $5 per player (yes, kids have to pay, too).
