Are you looking for love in all the wrong places? The Denver Public Library’s Fresh City Life is here to help, with The Overdue Love Club, described as “a singles’ night for intelligent people.”

And unlike some other singles’ nights, this one comes with a host perfect for breaking the ice. “No matter how old we get, we all act like seventh-graders at our first social,” notes Fresh City Life’s Chris Loffelmacher. “Boys on one side, girls on the other.” But Janice Hoffman — author of Relationship Rules: 12 Strategies for Creating a Love That Lasts and attendee at the very first Fresh City Life singles’ night — will be on hand with icebreaker games and pep talks to keep the energy flowing. “One of her specialties is helping people navigate the dating and singles scene,” Loffelmacher points out.

The Overdue Love Club begins tonight at 6:30 at Michelangelo’s Wine & Coffee Bar, 1 Broadway. “We’re experimenting more and more with partnering with outside businesses and organizations,” says Loffelmacher, “and it seemed like a really good pairing to find a place where people can sample wine or have coffee in a more congenial space.” The event is free to attend, but registration is required. Call 720-865-1206 or visit http://denverlibrary.org/programs/fresh/overdue.html.
