Once upon a time, it was enough for a DJ to weave a spell on the dance floor, but those days are long gone. Now, anyone dabbling in electronic music had better have some serious chops as a producer. And when it comes to production, Alex Metric is one of the finest acts currently on the scene. He’s released dozens of original tracks that have been recorded and released by such illustrious organiza-tions as Ministry of Sound and BBC Radio 1, and he’s also well known for his remix action, having created new versions of tracks by such disparate artists as Depeche Mode, Phoenix and Ellie Goulding. But the man’s no slouch when it comes to mixing up his own sets, either, as evidenced by his recent world tour; he’s been scorching dance floors from Singapore to Sydney to Miami. And now it’s Denver’s turn. Tomorrow night, Metric teams up with Destructo for what is sure to be an unforgettable night.

SUN | TIESTO at BELLY UP ASPEN | 1/26/14 On the off chance that you’ve never actually heard of EDM, you’ve most definitely heard of Tiesto. Whether or not ravers, dubsteppers, trance fans, drum and bass gurus, or anyone else doesn’t think he’s much to shake a stick at, he is doing more globally for the scene than most. On a constant tour schedule, Tiesto spans the globe to share the biggest sounds in EDM. In January, he’ll be playing at the X-Games and then a Belly-Up set, which will be insane, considering he’s used to playing to thousands of people.

SUN | TRACTORBEAM at FOX THEATRE | 1/26/14 If three shows of the Disco Biscuits (two at the Odgen Theatre and one at the 1STBANK Center) wasn’t enough, the group will play a rare instrumental show under the name Tractorbeam at the Fox Theatre the day after the Biscuits three-night run. Word has it that these Tractorbeam sets were conceived as a different concert experience — more like a DJ set than a traditional rock show. (8:30 p.m., all ages, sold out)
