Keep Westword Free
We’re $1,500 away from our spring campaign goal!
We’re aiming to raise $20,000. Your support ensures Westword can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
Sure, you could always wait till tomorrow to start your New Year’s resolutions — but who wants to take up jogging while nursing a vicious hangover? Here’s a better plan: Head to Crested Butte for the second annual Frozen Buns 5K Resolution Fun Run and get a jump start on those resolutions.
You’ll begin at the Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce and make your way toward Peanut Lake, following tiki torches, glow sticks and flashlights through the beautiful setting. Write down your personal resolution for the year and carry it with you; you’ll need it at the halfway point, where you can drop it into a blazing (but small) cauldron of fire. A kids’ one-mile “Are We There Yet?” fun run is also available for those with munchkins in tow; registration for both the 5K and the one-mile fun run opens at 4 p.m.
Prizes, goodie bags, cookies, hot chocolate and cider are included; for information, call the Gunnison Valley Health Foundation at 1-970-641-0798 or visit www.gvh-colorado.org.
