We’re all hearing a lot of talk this holiday season about shopping local and what it means to a community. But Talulah Jones shop owner Robin Lohre is doing more than that: Beginning today at 5 p.m. with a Holiday Open House kickoff, Lohre will host a reception showcasing a different local artisan every night through Christmas Eve. Check Show and Tell daily to see who’s on the night’s roster.
Day One: Christy Lea Payne
Robin Lohre can’t get enough of Payne’s CLP Jewelry, which blends a rustic sensibility with modern sentiments, and has carried the line for years — so it’s fitting that Payne’s sterling creations will get the 24 Days promotion rolling. And Payne’s hammered metal charms, which are also featured in Robert Redford’s Sundance catalogue, are irresistible: Sweet and solid all at once, they put one in mind of a favorite old hat or a well-worn pair of cowboy boots. Or maybe a necklace that never comes off, even in the shower.
Payne will open up her treasure trunk tonight from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Talulah Jones, 1122 East 17th Avenue; visit Talulah Online or call 303-832-1230 for details.
