Full disclosure: I have a thing for firefighters. I don’t know if it’s the hoses, the washboard abs or that whole rescuing-people-in-danger vibe — but what I do know is that a hot firefighter makes me weak in the knees.
So you can bet I’m headed to the 2009 Colorado Firefighter Calendar Debut tonight at Beta, 1909 Blake Street, where, for a $75 VIP ticket ($85 at the door), I’ll receive a 2009 calendar, food and two drinks — plus the chance to have the 2009 calendar boys (and a girl or two) scrawl a personal greeting on my calendar at a private signing. Worth every penny, but if you’re strapped for cash, $35 ($45 at the door) will get you your own 2009 calendar and the chance to watch the 2008 and 2009 firefighters strut their stuff on the runway. Not to mention some of the fantastic auction items — like the opportunity to oil up the ’fighters for a photo shoot next year. And here’s the best part: All proceeds benefit the Children’s Hospital Burn Center.
