Classic art is classic for a reason: It’s awesome. And lowbrow art is increasing in popularity every day for the same reason: also awesome. And if you could combine the two somehow, in a classic-lowbrow mash-up of extreme proportions, the results would be, well, beyond quantifiable.

Want to see what that might look like? Then get thee to the Continental Club, 475 Santa Fe Drive, tonight at 8 p.m. for the opening of Kustom Klassics. You’ll find the “Mona Lisa” reworked as a ’50s pinup doll, “The Last Supper” envisioned in Rat Fink style, cupids done up as skeletons — you get the picture. Local hot rod groups have already been informed, so you’ll be able to catch their sweet rides out in the parking lot before heading inside for the $2 PBR tall boys (on special throughout the night) and all that awesome art. Kustom Klassics stays up through July 31; call 720-524-6904 for information.
