That Denver’s Chicano Humanities and Arts Council is celebrating thirty years on the local arts scene is no surprise. Few grassroots non-profit arts organizations have as much wherewithal when it comes to sticking to the plan. Now as entrenched as an ancient tire rut burned into a road paved with San Luis Valley mud, CHAC will fete members old and new with two shows — Imagination Celebration and La Familia 30th Anniversary Members Show — both of which open tonight and continue through April 26. Featured will be founding member Al Sanchez’s I Am CHAC painting and print, modeled after the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover. For information, go to www.chacweb.org or call 303-571-0440. CHAC is at 772 Santa Fe Drive.

April 2-26, 2008
