It took a little longer than anticipated, but the Wynkoop Brewing Company finally got its signature beer, Railyard Ale, into a can in August. And while you can’t drink from the cans at the brewpub itself, you can buy six packs to go.

Oh, you can drink the Railyard from cans at Wynkoop Holdings’ other establishments, like the Goosetown Tavern and the Cherry Cricket.

It’s also on shelves in a few stores, like Wines Off Wynkoop and Argonaut, and just last week, it was added to the inventory at Marczyk Fine Wines, says the Wynkoop’s head brewer, Andy Brown.

Up next: the canning of Silverback Porter. Brown would like to have that ready by the brewery’s annual 5.6 K Gorilla Run on October 31, which benefits the Denver-based Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund and features participants dressed up in gorilla suits.

$50,000

But since the artwork for the Silverback cans is still being designed, that line may not be ready in time. Still, if runners keep their gorilla suits (they’re included in the cost of the race registration) and wear them to the Wynkoop when the Silverback Porter is finally ready, they’ll get a free can.
