Ace Eat Serve Launches Bottled Wing Sauces

The line was inspired by the Uptown restaurant's popular Tiger Wings.

Restaurateur Josh Wolkon has long been all about the sauce. In 1997, he founded Vesta Dipping Grill, a sauce lover’s haven that evolved into simply Vesta before it shuttered in 2020.

That eatery was the start of Wolkon’s Secret Sauce restaurant group, which now includes two Uptown spots, Steuben’s and Ace Eat Serve. With a pan-Asian menu and ping-pong hall, Ace is a lively place that’s always evolving its menu, but one longtime staple is the Tiger Wings, which have been on offer since 2012.

During the pandemic, Ace expanded its wing offerings with the addition of a ghost kitchen, Wing Alley, and two of the flavors developed for that project have stuck around. We crave Ace’s wings on the regular, which is why it landed on our recent list of the ten best places to get wings in the metro area.

Now, Wolkon is focusing on sauces in a new way: All three of Ace’s wing sauce flavors are available to buy and take home in bottles. Tiger Wing Sauce has sweet, spicy, salty and umami notes; creamy Dragon Wing Sauce combines mayo and chile peppers; and Buffalo Wing Sauce has an Asian twist from cayenne combined with garlic, soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, rice vinegar and a shichimi togarashi (Japanese seven-spice) seasoning blend.

All three can be tossed with wings that are baked, fried or air-fried at home, but home cooks can also use the sauces on just about any protein or vegetable.

In addition to being sold at Ace, the sauces are available online for $8.99 each or in a three-pack for $21.99.
