In response to recent policy changes by President Donald Trump and his administration, a coalition of advocacy groups organized a nationwide protest for April 5, titled “Hands Off!” This mass mobilization aimed to oppose what organizers describe as a “brazen power grab” affecting Social Security, immigration policies, the federal workforce and other critical issues.

The event was part of a broader effort comprising over 1,100 rallies nationwide, reflecting widespread concern over the current political trajectory.
In Denver, the protest started at the Colorado State Capitol, the site of many recent political protests. On this cold Saturday, thousands of participants rallied to protest the administration’s actions, emphasizing the detrimental impact on local communities and vulnerable populations. Many of the protesters took to the street, marching downtown.
